Starting next Tuesday, all Presidio Middle School students will be taking the SBAC in Math and English. Eighth graders will also be taking the state Science test. We will be on a special bell schedule for three weeks to allow everyone plenty of time to take the test. All students who have earbuds or headphones of their own may use them for audio sections of the exam, your child can bring their earbuds or headphones on Tuesdays and Thursdays for testing - please remind your child to keep them safe as they are their possessions and their responsibility, we do not want them to be lost. Students who need headphones should let their English teacher know, we have limited quantities to lend out during testing.
During testing it is especially important for your child to get a good night’s sleep the night before, to eat breakfast on the day of the test, and to take a deep breathe and relax before they begin.
Please remind your child to bring an independent reading book to class during testing. If they finish early they may read. Any student who has a phone out or on during testing will have violated state testing policy; which is a serious incident - please remind your child make sure to have any electronic devices turned off and put completely away before any testing session begins.
SBAC tests are an opportunity for your child to show off all he or she knows and has learned; with your reminders and encouragement we know they will do their best.

If you must drop off your student in front of the school, please drive north on 30th Ave or south on 29th Ave so that they don’t have to cross in front of cars and traffic moves smoothly. Please consider arranging an alternative drop-off/pick-up spot with your student a couple of blocks from the school to help relieve traffic congestion. In all cases, DO NOT BLOCK ANY DRIVEWAYS. more
