ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN:  Presidio Participation for Popsicles is our November contest. Our goal for this year’s AGC is $125,000.  Currently we have received $55,000 in donations, with 18.3% participation from our families. Our goal is always 100% participation, but if we can reach 50% participation school wide by November 30th, every student will get a popsicle.  We will pick a warm day to give the kids a treat. YOSEMITE AND OLYMPIC PARK: Applications are currently being processed. Trip rosters and waitlists will be posted soon. Thank you for your patience.  Students selected for each trip and the top 10 on the both waitlists will have their checks submitted to the District for processing this month.


SEE’S CANDY: The Annual See’s candy sale begins today!  Funds will benefit the 8th graders traveling to W.A. DC and NYC in May.  This is a great way to start your holiday shopping, while also supporting student scholarships!  Order forms should be included in today’s Wednesday envelope. Please email Janet Yieh ( with any questions.  Orders are Due Wednesday 2/5/2018, checks should be made out to “Presidio PTSA”.


FRIDAY COFFEE: Our next Friday Coffee/Principal Chat will be a presentation by teacher Rebecca Fall on Homework Strategies. Ms. Fall made a similar presentation last year, and we are bringing it back by popular demand! Coffee and nibbles will be provided by the PTSA. Friday, 11/16 @ 9:15 AM in the Staff Lounge, Rm. 117. HARVEST FEASTIVAL POTLUCK: Join Beacon for our Harvest Feastival Potluck, a celebration of community, friends and family. Beacon will provide delicious turkey entrees and beverages, please bring sides. Students must be accompanied by parent/guardian/family member. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE WEEK:  Parent/Teacher conferences will be held the week of 11/26-11/30.  A Request Form has been included in this week’s Wednesday Envelope.  Please contact your homeroom teacher if you do not receive the form. Please return your form by Friday 11/16/2018.  Please note, there will be no Late Start Wednesday during Parent/Teacher Conference Week.


BERNAL HEIGHTS FUNDRAISER: Eat a one of the participating restaurants, in Bernal Heights, on Tuesday, 11/27 and 20% will be given back to Presidio.  Three restaurants to choose from in Bernal Heights: Vega (Dinner Only), Bernal Star (Lunch and Dinner)   Vino Rosso (Happy Hour and Dinner). You must mention the Presidio fundraiser.  Dine-in and take-out orders are included.


IT’S STUDY TIME!  The end of the trimester is this Friday (November 16); now is the time to focus on studying, completing work, and raising your grades. Make sure you speak up in class if you have questions and seek help if you need it! Check your Synergy/GoogleClassroom for updates on your assignments and what needs to be completed, and the classes that may require more attention for raising grades.

LOST AND FOUND- LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!: School administration is looking for a couple of parent volunteers to organize the Lost & Found.  Parents who are interested, please come to school weekly and tidy up the area. Students are more likely to recover their possessions when they are organized.  


LOST AND FOUND: Occasionally we find cash in unidentified wallets, sandwich bags, brown bags etc. PLEASE have your student only carry money that is needed for the day, along with student ID, so that we can return it ~ Ms. Miller  (


TABLE TUESDAYS:  Any student, staff member, parent or outside community group to host an informational, social or entertainment table during lunch. Use this as an opportunity to raise awareness of an important social issue, provide some fun things for students to do during lunch or get more people involved in a club or activity you organize.  To submit a proposal, go to:

SFUSD HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS.  8th Grade families should have received SFUSD high school applications in the mail.  If you have not received it, you may pick up a copy in the main office. Limited copies available.  All applications, except for Lowell, are due no later than January 11, 2019 at 3pm in the main office. Lowell applications, with the SFUSD applications, are due on December 14 at 3:25pm.  Lowell applications may be picked up at Presidio Main Office.


8TH GRADERS INTERESTED IN APPLYING TO RUTH ASAWA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (SOTA): The following are the only dates for students to tour at SOTA: November 26, and January 7th, no reservations required!  Parents are not required to attend. Tours start promptly at 1:30pm. See Ms. Jenny if you have any questions about tours and the application process specifically for SOTA.

8TH GRADERS INTERESTED IN APPLYING TO JOHN O’CONNELL: Their Annual Fall Showcase is on November 15th. This is a great way to see the many different pathways offered at O'Connell. See Ms. Jenny for more information! We will leave Presidio before lunch and return by 3:25pm, bus transportation provided. Ms. Jenny is looking for 1-2 student representatives per homeroom! There are spots for 40 students. Parents can also chaperone.
