ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN:  Presidio Participation for Popsicles is our November contest. Our goal for this year’s AGC is $125,000.  Currently we have received $61,500 in donations, with 19.2% participation from our families. Our goal is always 100% participation, but if we can reach 50% participation school wide by November 30th, every student will get a popsicle.  We will pick a warm day to give the kids a treat. SEE’S CANDY: The Annual See’s candy sale continues though today, December 5th!  Funds will benefit the 8th graders traveling to W.A. DC and NYC in May.  This is a great way to start your holiday shopping, while also supporting student scholarships!  Order forms went home in the November 14th Wednesday envelope. Please email Janet Yieh (janet_yieh@yahoo.com) with any questions or if you need an additional order form.  Orders are Due Wednesday 12/5/2018, checks should be made out to “Presidio PTSA”.

ALLY AND INCLUSION WEEK AT PRESIDIO: Next week is also Ally Week at Presidio. The student created slogan this year is "With Unity Comes A Strong Community." There will be homeroom presentations, grade level assemblies on Tuesday and lunch time activities to promote being an ally.  This year’s theme for Inclusive Schools Week is “Kaleidoscope of Friends”. Events will take place December 3-7, during class and lunch time.  All Presidio students and their families are also invited to enjoy a Multicultural potluck on Friday December 7 at 5:30 PM in the courtyard. MUSICAL THEATER VOLUNTEERS: We’ve heard the call to produce a Spring Musical. In order to make it happen, we will need plenty of parent volunteers. Do you have any of the following talents or interest: Director, Costumes, Hair, Makeup, Set Design, Choreography, etc? Can you organize rehearsals & food for the cast? Are you up for a fabulous creative challenge? Please contact Ms Dunbar, dunbare@sfusd.edu, and let her know how you can help.

DINE OUT FUNDRAISER: The Next Presidio Dine Out Fundraiser will be Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Tsing Tao Restaurant @ 3107 Clement Street #1615.  Hours are: Lunch: 10:30am - 3pm and Dinner: 5pm - 9:30pm.  Please mention the Presidio Middle School Fundraiser so we can earn 20% on every order. FRIDAY COFFEE: Our next Friday Coffee/Principal Chat will be a presentation by teacher Rebecca Fall on Homework Strategies. Ms. Fall made a similar presentation last year, and we are bringing it back by popular demand! Coffee and nibbles will be provided by the PTSA. Friday, 12/14 @ 9:15 AM in the Staff Lounge, Rm. 117. LOST AND FOUND- LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!: School administration is looking for a couple of parent volunteers to organize the Lost & Found.  Parents who are interested, please come to school weekly and tidy up the area. Students are more likely to recover their possessions when they are organized.  

LOST AND FOUND: Occasionally we find cash in unidentified wallets, sandwich bags, brown bags etc. PLEASE have your student only carry money that is needed for the day, along with student ID, so that we can return it ~ Ms. Miller  (reidy-millerk@sfusd.edu)

TABLE TUESDAYS:  Any student, staff member, parent or outside community group to host an informational, social or entertainment table during lunch. Use this as an opportunity to raise awareness of an important social issue, provide some fun things for students to do during lunch or get more people involved in a club or activity you organize.  To submit a proposal, go to: http://bit.ly/tabletuesday

YEARBOOK CLUB:  Students who are interested in joining the yearbook club should come to room 203 after school on Mondays & Fridays from 3:45-4:45.  We really need some 7th graders! Questions? Please email presidioptsa@gmail.com or mia@richmondsf.org.

YEARBOOK: Yearbooks ($50) may be purchased at TreeRing.com/activate. Please use passcode 1015372493931878 for first time Tree Ring users.  Previous Tree Ring users should log in with their email and password, but you will need to “add school”, then add Presidio Middle School.

PTSA MEETING:​ ​​​​Join us for the your PTSA meeting.  This is a great opportunity to meet the Executive Board members and learn how the PTSA benefits the Parents, Teachers and Students.  The meeting will be held in the Library (2nd Floor) on Thursday, January 17, at 6pm.  Hope to see you there!

8TH GRADERS: Do you or your parents have questions about your SFUSD or Lowell application? Ms. Jenny will be available two days after school to answer questions! Meeting time is Thursday December 6th from 4:00-6:00pm. No need to make an appointment! Meeting location TBD based on amount of students/families present.

SFUSD HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATIONS.  8th Grade families should have received SFUSD high school applications in the mail.  If you have not received it, you may pick up a copy in the main office. Limited copies available.  All applications, except for Lowell, are due no later than January 11, 2019 at 3pm in the main office. Lowell applications, with the SFUSD applications, are due to Presidio on December 14 by 3:25pm.  Lowell applications may be picked up at Presidio Main Office.

8TH GRADERS INTERESTED IN APPLYING TO RUTH ASAWA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (SOTA): The only date remaining for students to tour at SOTA: January 7th, no reservations required!  Parents are not required to attend. Tours start promptly at 1:30pm. See Ms. Jenny if you have any questions about tours and the application process specifically for SOTA.
